“A Fundraiser for Earth Justice”
Who –We are The NEK Cleanup Crew of Vermont. Our goal is to encourage our community to help clean up litter.
What – We are organizing a sponsored litter cleanup to raise money for Earth Justice.
Why – We want to support Earth Justice, a non-profit environmental law organization that protects people’s health, preserves natural environments, defends wildlife and promotes clean energy.
How – We are recruiting volunteers to collect and clean up litter in the NEK. The volunteers are asking sponsors to pledge money for the litter cleanup event. Sponsors should make checks payable to Earth Justice. Casella is offering to take1 ton of the trash collected pro bono. Dana Patoine is offering to deliver the trash to teh St. J Transfer Station.
When –The litter cleanup will be scheduled the week of September 6th through September 12th. Dana will deliver the litter to the St. Johnsbury Transfer Station on Saturday the 13th between 7:15 AM and 12:30PM.
Where – We will start in our local area, the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, which is made up of Caledonia, Orleans and Essex Counties. The volunteer groups will choose a location they want to clean up. Locations will be listed on this website. We have selected public or private spaces that have a hefty load of litter.
Need- Would you be interested in volunteering to clean up litter, deliver litter to Dana’s truck or sponsor a volunteer? Please sign up so we can keep you informed.
