The chaos has been so overwhelming in America and our bullshit is ricocheting around Europe and exploiting other parts of the world. Meanwhile there are 40 countries across the world experiencing war and despair with the highest numbers of life lost in in Ukraine, Palestine, Sudan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Somalia, Congo and the Mexican drug wars… it seems the world is on fire. *1
So how about the wildlife affected by all this?
According to AI- Wildlife populations are facing a catastrophic 73% decline globally since 1970 due to habitat loss, climate change, and pollution. With roughly one million species threatened with extinction, urgent conservation is needed to prevent ecosystem collapse. Critical risks include significant declines in bird, fish, and mammal populations.
So let’s dig into this deeper, much deeper…
In America the Trump administration has manipulated terms and definitions, and changed rules and protections within the Endangered Species Act to benefit energy conglomerates. This effects the lives of pollinators like the monarch butterfly, carnivores like wolves, bears and owls, and aquatic species like fish and manatees.
